Graduating with a BA in Fine Art from the Falmouth School of Art in 2018, Ella Squirrell is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses painting, film, photography, and performance, with a primary focus on painting.

Driven by a fascination with human emotion, behaviour, temperament, colour, and clothing, her paintings feature semi-fictional portraits set in both real and imagined scenarios. These portraits blur the lines between fact and fiction, allowing her to navigate and comprehend her own sense of 'being.'

Through her paintings, the unspoken depths of human emotion are captured, giving voice to what cannot be articulated through words. Her art invites viewers to explore intricate layers of identity and existence, encouraging a profound reflection on the human condition.

Her current work explores the figure in landscape and our relationship to the body, investigating how nature and landscape can influence our emotional experience, emphasising the therapeutic and healing connection she has to her surroundings.
