ABOUT HARRY
My paintings always seem to come back to questions about why and how we’re here experiencing reality as we do. I have no real answers to any of the questions, but my paintings help me process the mystery, awe, happiness and sadness I can feel upon contact with the world.
My work is investigative and expressive, but not always both at the same time. Sometimes I paint with a clear intention, other times I have no purpose other than to release something. I’m OK with not really knowing what I’m doing. In my experience knowing fades about as fast as it arrives. I try to riff on that where possible. There are only a few things I find withstand this unravelling: love of your family, your friends, and the persistent beauty seen in the world despite all of its darkness.
